Who writes this site
One person. My name is Kyle Govender, I live and work in Johannesburg, and I research, write and verify everything published on VistaVoyage. There is no content team, no agency and no syndicated feed. When a page is wrong, it is my error to fix.
I am not a travel agent and I have never worked for an airline. What I have is fifteen years in South African retail management, a web development qualification, and several years of comparing domestic flights closely enough to notice what the big aggregators get wrong about this market. That is the expertise on offer here: not insider access, but careful, current, locally grounded research.
Where our information comes from
Airline policy is taken from each carrier's own published conditions of carriage and baggage pages — not from other comparison sites, and not from memory. Where a policy differs by fare class, we say so rather than quoting one figure and letting you discover the exception at the airport.
Route information is checked against carrier schedules and observed flight data. If no airline operates a non-stop service on a city pair, the page says so plainly and names the connecting hub. We do not describe a route as direct because it would convert better.
Airport charges are taken from official operator tariffs where those are published. Where a published figure is ambiguous, we leave it out rather than estimate.
What we will not publish
- Invented reviews or testimonials. There are none on this site. If VistaVoyage ever has genuine, independently published customer reviews, they will appear with a link to the source.
- Fabricated statistics or trust badges. No user counts, no ratings, no security claims about systems we do not operate.
- Prices we cannot support. Fares shown are live results from Travelstart at the moment you search. Where a page gives a rand range, it is described as a range and never as an offer.
- Partnerships we do not have. Our booking partner is Travelstart. We do not list affiliations we have not entered into.
How often pages are updated
Airline networks change constantly — routes are suspended, allowances revised, airports lose service. Route and airline pages are reviewed whenever a material change is identified, and the whole route network is audited periodically for internal contradictions. Every page carries a last-updated date so you can judge for yourself whether it is current.
We would rather remove a page than leave a wrong one up.
How we make money
If you click through to Travelstart from this site and book, VistaVoyage earns a commission. It costs you nothing extra — you pay the same fare you would pay going direct. This is disclosed on every page carrying a booking link.
The commission does not influence which airline appears first. The live search orders results by the criteria you choose; we do not reorder them, and we are not paid by any airline to recommend it. Where we say one carrier is better for a particular trip, that is an editorial judgement you are free to disagree with.
Independence
No airline, airport or travel operator has editorial input into this site. We have never accepted payment for a review, a ranking or a mention. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page in question before you read a word of it.
Corrections
Errors get fixed, not quietly buried. Our full approach is set out on the corrections policy page.
